Mountain hikes
The surrounding nature and mountains are excellent for enjoyable day trips for both adults and children. At Juvasshytta, guided tours to Galdhøpiggen are available, and mountains such as Glittertind and Fanaråkern are close by. If you simply want to enjoy the mountain air on shorter walks, there are several marked hiking trails.
Galdhøpiggen climbing park and caving
The climbing park is located right next to the mountain pasture. Along the road to Sognefjellet are the Dumdal caves, carved into the mountain by the river Dumma. Here you can visit both dry caves and caves where the river flows along the bottom.
On horseback
At Raubergstulen, it is also possible to go riding. The Icelandic horses are great companions and will take you on beautiful rides around Raubergstulen. Rides must be booked in advance.
Summit tours in winter and Easter
Bøverdalen and Jotunheimen are a paradise for summit tours. In the surrounding area you will find many peaks over 2,000 meters that can be tackled both on foot and on skis.
